LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech women's golf added a signee to their 2020 class Thursday as Pyrene Delample signed a National Letter of Intent to join the program, announced by head coach JoJo Robertson.
Delample, now the second member of the Red Raider women's golf squad to hail from France, is a native of Bourgoin. She currently resides at No. 800 on the World Amateur Golf Rankings and has been rated as high as No. 750.
"We are so excited to welcome Pie [Pyrene] to our team," Robertson said. "She is the type of person that we look for in our program. She excels in the classroom and is very talented on the golf course. She has played golf all over the world and will bring a ton of experience with her next year."
Delample will begin her Tech career next fall with a wealth of competitive experience internationally, as she has played in six Junior National Championships, including a stroke play title in 2017. She has won six WAGR events, including both the Grand Prix du Golf club de Lyon and the Grand Prix de Besancon in 2017. She shot a career low of 66 in round three of the 2018 Grand Prix de la Ligue AURA.
Most recently, Delample won the French Ladies Cup in Golf Du Gouverneur and finished in the top-three in two international tournaments this year, including a tie for third at the English Girls U 18 in Cambridge and the St. Andrews Junior Ladies U 23.
Along with her competitive accomplishments, Delampe caddied for three-time European Senior Tour winner Gary Wolstenholme in 2015.
