Thomson and Wynn Ready to Return to ITA Fall National Championships

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Texas Tech men's tennis seniors Bjorn Thomson and Parker Wynn will head to Newport Beach, Calif., to compete in the annual Oracle/ITA Fall National Championships, beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
Now in its third year replacing the former ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, the tournament features 128 of the top men's and women's tennis athletes across five divisions of collegiate athletics. Thomson and Wynn will be one of 64 doubles teams in the five-day event.
Thomson and Wynn enter this year's competition as the No. 1-seeded doubles pairing following a 2018 appearance where they finished as the national runner-ups, falling to UNC Asheville in the championship match. The pair most recently advanced to the doubles quarterfinals of the ITA Texas Regionals in Waco.
All men's matches will take place at The Tennis Club at Newport before it is moved to Newport Beach Tennis Club on Saturday and Sunday. Round of 32 doubles matches are slated to begin at approximately 10 a.m. CT on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Sunday's finals will be broadcast on ESPN3.
