Thomson and Wynn Fall at ITA National Fall Championships

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Texas Tech men's tennis seniors Bjorn Thomson and Parker Wynn were defeated by Bulis/Cukierman of USC in the first round of play at the ITA Fall National Championships in Newport Beach, Calif., on Wednesday.
The Red Raider duo entered the tournament as the top-ranked doubles team on the heels of a runner-up finish a year ago in Surprise, Arizona.
In their first match of the week, Thomson and Wynn battled back from a 5-3 deficit in the first set against USC, taking an early 7-6(8) advantage into the second set. USC would fire back to take the next set 6-2 before eventually winning the winner-take-all third set at 11-9.
Thomson and Wynn will return for consolation draw action on Thursday.
