Senior Felicity Maltby upsets No. 23 Anna Rogers in singles play
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 20 Texas Tech Women's Tennis team dropped its first match of the season, falling 4-3, to No. 14 NC State.

The Lady Raiders move to 2-1 on the season while NC State improves to 5-0.

Texas Tech won the doubles point to take an early 1-0 advantage in the match. No. 38 doubles duo Felicity Maltby and Nell Miller captured a 6-1 win on court two before No. 20 Anna Rogers and Alana Smith of NC State tied the doubles play at 1-1 with a 6-2 win over Lana Rush and Kennedy Bridgforth on court one.

Olivia Peet and Francesca Sella sealed the point with a 6-4 victory on court three over Liz Norman and Bianca Moldovan.

NC State clinched the match with four straight singles match wins in straight sets on courts two through five.

Peet captured her second win of the season and first in dual match play with a 6-2, 6-7(5), 1-0 (10-6) victory on court six.

Maltby highlighted the day with a 2-6, 7-6 (3) 6-2 victory over the 23rd-ranked Anna Rogers. This is the second time this season that Maltby has defeated Rogers. The senior is now 5-2 on the season and 3-1 against ranked opponents.
