Lady Raiders take down Tulane, New Mexico in Friday doubleheader
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Women's Tennis captured back-to-back wins at the McLeod Tennis Center, defeating Tulane and New Mexico on Friday.

The Lady Raiders improved to 6-3 on the season with the two wins today.

LADY RAIDERS 7, TULANE 0
The Lady Raiders started the day with a 7-0 sweep over Tulane (4-5). Tech clinched the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Doubles pair Kennedy Bridgforth and Lana Rush captured their sixth win of the season with a 6-2 victory over Tulane's Laura Fabrizi and Daniela La Fuente. Olivia Peet and Francesca Sella clinched the point on court three with a 6-4 win over Alex Alegre and Adelaide Lavery.

Bridgforth started the singles action quickly and picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win over Lavery on court five. No. 30 Felicity Maltby followed with a two-set sweep (6-4, 6-0) over Fabrizi to give the Lady Raiders a 3-0 advantage. Newcomer Denise-Antonela Stoica clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-0 victory on court four.

The two teams agreed to play out the rest of the match as Rush captured her fifth win of the season with a 6-4, 6-3 decision on court six.

Francesca Sella picked up a three-set win in tiebreaks (10-3) after dropping the first set, 7-6 (1), and then tying the match at 1-all with a 6-1 set two win.

Newcomer Nell Miller earned her third win of the season with a 7-5, 7-6 (5) gritty win over Daniela La Fuente on court three to close out the match for the clean sweep.

LADY RAIDERS 4, NEW MEXICO 1
Texas Tech earned a 4-1 win over New Mexico (3-7) on Friday evening.

The Lady Raiders clinched the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Head Coach Todd Petty changed the doubles teams, pairing Maltby and Bridgforth on court one. The two earned a 6-2 victory to start the match while Rush and Olivia Peet teamed up on court two to clinch the doubles point with a 6-4 win.

New Mexico tied the match, 1-1, after opening singles play with a 6-0, 6-3 win from Bronte Murgett over Sella. Â

Maltby gave the Lady Raiders a 2-1 advantage after defeating Ruth Copas, 6-1, 6-3, on court one. Maltby improved to 8-3 on the season, 6-2 at the No. 1 line. Stoica improved to 3-1 when playing at the No. 4 line as she defeated Danielle Quevedo in straight sets (6-2, 6-3).

Miller clinched the match for the first time this season with a 7-6(2), 6-2 victory on court three to close out the night.
