Lady Raider Tennis Falls to No. 17 Miami

Lady Raiders drop, 4-0, in Miami
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 20 Texas Tech Women's Tennis team fell to No. 17 Miami, 4-0, after a six-hour rain relay at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on Saturday.

Tech (3-3) started off in doubles play with courts one and two going into tiebreakers. The Lady Raiders unfortunately came up short, falling on court three, 6-4, and on court one, 7-6 (7-0) as Miami (6-1) took the 1-0 advantage.

Miami secured two more points in singles play to take a 3-0 lead before the second rain delay of the match. No. 40 Felicity Maltby fell in straight sets (6-3, 6-3) to No. 4 Perez-Somarriba on court one. Francesca Sella fell 6-0, 7-5 to Ulyana Shirokova on court three. Â

Miami clinched the match on court four as Denise-Antonela Stoica fell in three sets (0-6, 6-4, 6-3) to Lucia Marzal.
