RED RAIDER QUICK HITS
- The Texas Tech offense has powered home runs in all but three games – Wisconsin, Lamar and Drake – this season. The Red Raiders racked up three against Omaha, San Diego State and UT Arlington, a pair of home runs against UAB, Auburn, North Texas and UT Arlington, and one home run against Nebraska (2x), Furman, Drake, then-No. 13 Arizona State, then-No. 17 Oregon, No. 5 Washington and North Texas. The team has collected 25 dingers over the course of the season and has limited opponents to just three.
- Continuing its hot start to the season, Texas Tech leads the Big 12 conference for the fourth consecutive week. Tech boasts a .944 winning percentage – which ranks third in the country – and is one of two teams that has suffered just one loss (the other being UCLA). Florida State and Alabama are the only two undefeated teams left in the country.
- Thanks to a four-home run performance at the Texas Tech Invitational, senior All-American Jessica Hartwell is just two homers shy of tying the program record for career home runs. Hartwell currently sits second with 43 home runs and is vying to beat out standout Mikey Kenney (45 home runs, 2010-13) for the school's No. 1 spot.
- In her first season with the Red Raiders, Trenity Edwards has been nothing short of a vital piece of the Red Raider lineup. The sophomore transfer from Missouri leads the conference with seven home runs and an impressive .851 slugging percentage that ranks 41st in the country.
- A menace on the base paths, sophomore Heaven Burton leads the Big 12 conference with 10 steals on the season. Sitting back with 19 stolen bases in her career, Burton has been caught stealing just twice in her career.
- Junior Karli Hamilton paces the Red Raiders, as well as the league, in several different categories. She leads the lineup and ranks second in the conference with 25 hits this season. She leads the conference and ranks 11th in the nation with three triples while also leading the Big 12 in runs scored (19). Hamilton ranks second with eight stolen bases and fifth overall with a .397 average at the plate.
- Finding numerous ways to get on base, Breanna Russell leads the Big 12 conference with a .561 on-base percentage. She has drawn a team-best 14 walks this season and has been plunked by a pitch five separate times. She has produced one sacrifice fly while racking up 13 hits on the season.
- Proving to be a dominant force in the circle, sophomore hurler Erin Edmoundson has been spectacular throughout the 2019 season. Edmoundson leads the Big 12 conference in wins (10), strikeouts (72), shutouts (4) and complete games (9) in 61.2 innings. Edmoundson has thrown two no-hitters this season and has limited opponents to a .160 batting average. Edmoundson ranks fourth in the country with a 10-1 record and sits third in the NCAA with four shutouts.
- Junior transfer Missy Zoch helped the Red Raiders to a pair of wins last weekend as she improved to 6-0 on the season. Zoch started the weekend with a season-high seven-inning outing where she fanned seven hitters and allowed just one run.
- Sitting right behind Oklahoma in conference batting average, Texas Tech ranks 12th in the NCAA with a .344 batting average. The Red Raiders rank second in the league with 165 total hits, five triples, 23 stolen bases, a .560 slugging percentage and a .421 on-base percentage.
