Nine Red Raiders Net Academic All-Big 12 Honors

Texas Tech tennis programs tally nine honorees for second-consecutive year
IRVING, Texas - The Texas Tech men's and women's tennis teams had nine athletes selected to the Academic All-Big 12, as announced by conference officials on Tuesday.

Eight of the nine players were named to the first team, which is comprised of students who have maintained a 3.20 GPA or better.
Â
The men's six selections are the most for a Red Raider squad since at least 2002.
Â
Junior Bjorn Thomson, who was selected for the second time in his career, was the lone 4.0 honoree for the men. Thomson also held a 4.0 GPA when he was selected as a sophomore in 2016.

Tommy Mylnikov earned first team accolades for the second-consecutive year. Fellow senior Artem Kapshuk, who is making his first appearance, also garnered a first team selection. Mathues Leite and Ilgiz Valiev round out the first team for the men, while Jackson Cobb made the second team.

On the women's side, senior Felicity Maltby was honored for the third-consecutive year, as she was named to the first team on Tuesday for the second time in her Red Raider career.

Lana Rush joined Maltby on the first team, as she is one of six conference women to compile a 4.0 GPA. Junior Reagan Collins rounds out the accolades for Tech with first team representation.
