Taylor Ready to Compete at English Women's Open Amateur Championship

Amy Taylor set to round out her summer schedule with annual stroke play event in England
LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech junior women's golfer Amy Taylor will tee off in the 2019 English Women's Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship at the Ipswich Golf Club in England on Tuesday.

The 72-hole event features a field of 144 players that will be cut to the leading 40 competitors and ties for the final 36 of play.

Taylor has competed in multiple tournaments overseas over the summer break, recording multiple top-40 finishes including a tie for 12th at the European Ladies Team Championship in July.

Taylor's 2018-19 campaign for the Red Raiders was highlighted by a career-low round of 66 to open the Valspar Augusta Invitational, which would eventually vault her to a tie for 5th place. She finished the year with a career-low 76.14 stroke average and a pair of top-10 finishes.

Tuesday's opening round is set to begin at 8:00 a.m. CT.
