Garcia Added to ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech junior women's golfer Sofia Garcia was selected to the 2019-20 Preseason ANNIKA Award Watch List on Friday.

Friday's acknowledgment was the second preseason recognition for Garcia, as the Paraguayan standout was recently named a Golfweek Magazine Preseason First Team All-American on Wednesday.

The ANNIKA Award is given to the top collegiate golfer each year and is determined by Golf Channel.

Garcia is returning for her third stint in a Red Raider uniform, as she will look to repeat the success she found a year ago, where she set multiple program records, including the low single round record with a 64 at the BYU at Entrada Classic in March.

Garcia and the Red Raiders return to action on Sept. 9-10 at the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas.
