Red Raider Basketball With Chris Beard to Debut Thursday

LUBBOCK, Texas – "Red Raider Basketball with Chris Beard" will make its debut at 7 p.m. on Thursday live from Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q with host Geoff Haxton.
Beard and Haxton return for their fourth year together on the show and will preview Saturday's matchup at No. 17 West Virginia and talk about the season. Texas Tech is currently ranked No. 22 in the nation with a 10-4 overall record that includes a win over then No. 1-ranked Louisville and a 35-point victory over Oklahoma State last Saturday in its Big 12 opener. The Red Raiders are coming off their most historic season in program history when they won the Big 12 regular season championship and advanced to the NCAA Final Four and NCAA National Championship Final.
Fans attending Thursday's show will have an opportunity to receive game tickets, promotional items and interact with Beard. In his fourth season leading the program, Beard is 86-35 overall, 58-6 at home and is the reigning Associated Press National Coach of the Year along with being named the Big 12 Coach of the Year the past two seasons. Â

The Red Raiders play at WVU this weekend, at Kansas State in Manhattan, Kansas next Tuesday and will then return home to host Iowa State on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the United Supermarkets Arena. Jahmi'us Ramsey is coming off a 20-point performance against No. 4 Baylor and leads the team with 17.7 points per game, while Chris Clarke is at 8.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game which both rank in the top-5 in the conference. Tech is currently 8-1 on its home court this season and are averaging 13,928 fans per game which is the best in Texas, second in the conference and 18th nationally. Â
The show schedule for the remainder of the season is Jan. 16, Jan. 23, Jan. 30, Feb. 6 and Feb. 13 at Rudy's.
