
Lady Raiders Bounce Back with Win over Bulldogs

OXFORD, Miss  – The Texas Tech women's tennis team finished the weekend strong with an impressive 4-1 win over Mississippi State to wrap up the Big 12/SEC Tennis Challenge. Sophomore Olivia Peet picked up two ranked wins in the Texas Tech victory.

The Lady Raiders (2-2) picked up the doubles point with ranked wins on courts one and two. Lisa Mays and Nell Miller defeated No. 43 Magda Adaloglou and Tamara Racine in a 7-3 tiebreaker to take the match on court one. Olivia Peet and Margarita Skriabina earned a ranked win as well, defeating No. 45Â Emma Antonaki and Alexandra Mikhailuk, 6-4, on court two.

In singles, the Lady Raiders earned wins on courts one, four and five to lock up the win.

Peet also picked up an impressive win over No. 84 Emma Antonaki, 6-3, 6-3 on court one for her first singles win of the weekend.

On court four, Bojana Marinkov defeated Mikhailuk, 6-3, 6-0, while Miller dropped Valeria Nikolaev, 6-1, 6-1.

Mississippi State was able to pick up a win on court six, but after the match was clinched in favor of the Lady Raiders, Margarita Skriabina was leading 5-3 in the second set with the first set already in hand, and Lisa Mays had just forced a third set on court three.

The Lady Raiders will be back on the court next weekend when they head to Houston to take on Rice on Saturday at noon.
