Red Raiders Conclude The Prestige in Fourth Place

LA QUINTA, Calif. – Texas Tech sophomore Markus Braadlie shot 5-under on Wednesday in the final round of The Prestige secure a top-10 finish as the Red Raiders finished in fourth place as a team at the Greg Norman Course at PGA West.
Tech's fourth-place showing this week was their fifth top-five finish in six events on the season. The Red Raiders concluded the day just two shots back of San Diego State for third and five shots behind No. 1 Pepperdine in second. Tech shot rounds of 278-287-278 with a three-round tally of 843.
Braadlie's 66 tied his opening round from last year's Carmel Cup to match his career low at Tech. His tie for 10th place was also a personal best. The sophomore posted six birdies on Wednesday to just one bogey.
Freshman Ludvig Aberg, who began the final round in a tie for second place after rounds of 68 and 70, carded a 75 on Wednesday to tie for 31st. Sophomore Andy Lopez also secured a tie for 31st with rounds of 70-73-70 at PGA West.
Senior Sandy Scott, who was named to the Ben Hogan Award watch list during his final round on Wednesday, finished in a tie for 42nd at 3-over alongside Kyle Hogan, who tied Braadlie's birdie count at six on the day and had the second-lowest final round score on the day at 67. Hogan's score of 4-under was the lowest of his season.
At The Prestige Individual Tournament being played at the Coral Mountain Golf Club, Jansen Smith shot a final-round low of 68 to move up from 12th to 6th. Garrett Martin and Jansen Smith followed closely with finals rounds of 71 and 73, respectively. Martin notched a top-10 showing in solo-9th, while Smith tied for 10th.
The Red Raiders will return to action at the Southern Highlands Collegiate from March 1-3 in Las Vegas, Nevada for their third competition of a six-tournament spring schedule that will lead into the Big 12 Championship on April 27-29 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tech finished fourth at last year's Southern Highlands.
