Smith finished in the top-20 of all three tournaments he played in during the shortened season with a 10th-place showing at The Prestige highlighting his sophomore season… At the tournament he shot 73-66-73 – 212 for 10th playing as an individual… He began the season by finishing 20th at The Carmel Cup by shooting 73-71-71 – 215 at Pebble Beach and followed it by taking 20th as an individual at the Little Rock First Tee Classic… Smith averaged rounds of 72.0 through three tournaments and nine rounds played.
2018-19
Smith competed in seven tournaments as a true freshman and finished with a 73.4 scoring average... He was 2-over after shooting 79-68-71 at the Amer Ari Invitational for the Red Raiders... At the Big 12 tournament, Smith finished 28th overall at 6-over and was 35th at the NCAA Myrtle Beach Regional after finishing at 4-over... Smith's low-round of the season came with his 68 in the second round of the Amer Ari Invitational and he also posted a 70 in the first and second rounds of the Big 12 Championship... Smith competed at the U.S. Amateur during the summer and advanced to the round of 64.Â
