The Red Raiders open spring practices March 3 in anticipation of the Spring Game on April 10
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells announced Wednesday his program's spring football schedule, which begins March 3 and culminates with two opportunities for fans to see the Red Raiders in April.
Â
As part of the 15-practice schedule, Texas Tech will host a Fan Fest event on April 4 as well as the annual Spring Game on April 10. The Spring Game is slated for a 6 p.m. start inside Jones AT&T Stadium. Both events are both sponsored by Double Eagle Energy, an oil and gas development company based in the Permian Basin.
Â
Fan Fest will consist of the Red Raiders' second scrimmage of the spring as well as a youth clinic, live music and an autograph session. The scrimmage will begin at 11 a.m. that morning and will be free to all fans wishing to attend.
Â
Additional information regarding spring events will be announced in March in the weeks leading up to Fan Fest.
Texas Tech's remaining practices of the spring will be closed to the public as Wells and his staff will look to further develop a Red Raider roster that features 14 returning starters on both sides of the ball. Tech will generally host practices on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and each Saturday morning with one week off for Spring Break (March 16-20).
Â
Wells and his staff are allowed 15 spring practices by the NCAA to prepare for the 2020 season, which features seven home games inside Jones AT&T Stadium. Texas Tech is currently accepting season ticket renewals as well as deposits for new season ticket holders by visiting TexasTech.com or by calling 806-742-TECH.
