LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech women's golf head coach JoJo Robertson announced the signing of transfer Valentina Gilly on Monday afternoon. Gilly spent the last three seasons at Florida International.
"We are very excited to have Valentina join our team this fall," Robertson said. "She is a very accomplished player and I think she'll have an immediate impact in our program. Valentina is a great student as well, making a perfect fit for our team."
Gilly is coming off a junior season where she posted a scoring average of 74.4 in six events, including a season-high finish of T7 at the Jupiter Women's Invitational.
Gilly was named to the All-CUSA Second Team in her second year after a sophomore campaign that included a scoring average of 72.8 and a tie for second at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational. She also earned All-CUSA Third Team honors as a freshman.
A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Gilly experienced success prior to her collegiate career as she racked up multiple amateur titles in South America. She claimed three separate Venezuelan Amateur Championship, a National Amateur Championship, and competed for Venezuela in the World Team Championships.
