Lady Raider Tennis Wins Five on Day Two in Arlington

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Texas Tech women's tennis team had a strong second day at the Big 12/Pac-12 Mock Duals, winning five of seven matches at the Arlington Tennis Center.

In doubles, the Lady Raiders split with Kansas State, as Lisa Mays and Margarita Skriabina defeated the Wildcats' Anna Turco and Lilla Barzo, 6-4. Olivia Peet and Metka Komac came up short in the other doubles match to Karine-Marion Jobb and Maria Linares.

Matched up with Utah, Tech went 4-1 in singles on the day, with Mays, Peet, Skriabina and freshman Metka Komac picking up wins.

Mays, Peet and Skriabina each tallied straight-set wins. Mays defeated Anastasia Goncharova, 6-4, 6-2, for her first win of the week. Skriabina also notched her first singles win of the spring, handling Emily Dush, 6-0, 6-2. Peet moved to 2-0 in singles this week, defeating Lindsay Hung, 6-0, 6-2.

Freshman Metka Komac picked up the first singles victory of her collegiate career with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 victory over Anya Lamoreaux.

The Lady Raiders will close competition in Arlington on Wednesday with doubles against Utah and singles against Kansas.
