RED RAIDERS RIDE INTO COLLEGE STATION FOR ITA REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

COLLEGE STATION, Texas –The Red Raiders are set to play in the ITA Texas Regional at the Mitchell Tennis Center beginning this weekend and concluding on Monday, Oct. 18. Tech will travel seven competitors to the event including: Ilgiz Valiev, Reed Collier, Dimitrios Azoidis, Franco Ribero, Francisco Vittar, as well as newcomers Olle Wallin and Takeyasu Sekiguchi. All Tech participants, except for Wallin, will play in both the doubles and singles draw.
"The ITA Regionals are such a great opportunity for our student-athletes to play against great competition," said Texas Tech head coach Danny Whitehead. "These matches allow our players to compete against some of the best in the nation, and that will only make them better."
Inclement weather has been a factor, forcing tournament officials to alter match times.
