Texas Tech heads into the Big 12 Tournament as the No. 5 seed
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech soccer team (11-5-2, 4-4-1 Big 12) fell to TCU, 1-0, Thursday night at the John Walker Soccer Complex to close out the regular season.Â

It was a tightly contested first half as Texas Tech walked into the intermission holding a 4-3 shot margin over TCU (15-2-1, 7-1-1 Big 12). The Red Raiders lone shot on goal came off the foot of freshman Ashleigh Williams in the 44th minute. Keeper Madison White snagged three saves in the first half to keep the game scoreless.Â

Five minutes into the second half, White was tested as she came down with a save in the bottom left of the net. Two Red Raiders in Macy Blackburn and Charlotte Teeter responded with back-to-back shots in the 51st minute but were denied. Kirsten Davis launched a shot in the 62nd minute looking to break the score, but it sailed high. Â

Following a save by White in the 82nd minute, TCU jumped on the scoreboard two minutes later off a set-piece that Messiah Brown gathered and tucked into the right corner of the post. Davis tried to find the equalizer one minute before the final whistle, but the shot went right of the cross bar.Â
