Stone adds nine to the 2022 recruiting class

Five signees hail from Colorado, three from Texas and one comes from Georgia

"This class fills a lot of needs and is very athletic and very competitive with a high soccer IQ," said Stone. "It's easily one of the most exciting classes we've signed in years."

Position: Defender
Hometown: Sedalia, Colo.
High School: Valor Christian
Club: Real Colorado

Originally born in Cambridge, Mass., Bahr comes to Lubbock from Colorado by way of Valor Christian High where she was a First Team All-State and All-League member. Her club experience comes from playing with Real Colorado where she played a key role in leading the squad to becoming conference champions in 2020-21.

"One of the most dynamic flank players in the country – she will be a perfect fit for our attacking style and our competitive culture," said Stone.Â

Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Broomfield, Colo.
High School: Holy Family
Club: Real Colorado

A First Team and All-State honoree, Dietrich was named the Player of the Year in 2021 as she secured 113 saves. Off the pitch, she's a two-time President's List award winner while garnering the Academic Excellence Team Sports award.Â

"Can make every save and stays calm under pressure. She's very mature for a high school senior and we're excited to see her development under the tutelage of Gibbs Keeton," said Stone.Â

Position: Midfielder
Hometown: Windsor, Colo.
High School: Windsor
Club: Colorado Rapids Elite

In her freshman season at Windsor, Kingsbury was named a First Team All-Conference member and the Max Preps Player of the Year and made the All-State honorable mention list. She's been a Gatorade Player of the Year nominee and despite not having a season her sophomore year, Kingsbury was her conference's MVP her junior season while going on to earn All-State and All-Academic honors.Â

"Super competitive, very rangy and the type of holding mid that we haven't seen since Carly Wickenheiser – she is a Red Raider through and through and feisty as they come," said Stone.

Hometown: Alpharetta, Ga.

The 2021 6A Player of the Year, Leibel went on to also be named the Offensive Player of the Year as she helped lead her team to a state final. A team captain for her club Concorde Fire, Leibel and her squad captured the Southeastern Conference title en route to making a run in the national playoffs.Â

"She's a real box-to-box player with college level fitness and an uber competitor. Kate will be a wonderful addition to our midfield," said Stone.

Parsons brings with her First Team All-Conference, All-State and All-Academic accolades to Lubbock. Along with being named the MVP of her league, Parsons was a ECNL First Teamer in the Northwest Region and was also called up to participate in a US Regional camp.Â

"A multi-faceted attacking personality who can score on her own and set others up to finish. Peyton will be an instant fan favorite because of her desire to get to the goal and her competitive nature," said Stone.Â

JAYME RAMIREZ
Position: Midfielder
Hometown: Dallas, Texas
High School: North Mesquite
Club: FC Dallas

A two-year letter winner at North Mesquite, Ramirez competed at the club level for FC Dallas under the tutelage of former Red Raider assistant, Aaron Gordon.

Hometown: Centennial, Colo.
High School: Grandview
Club: Real Colorado

Skurcenski comes to West Texas having been a four-year letter winner at Grandview High, while also being an All-State and All-Academic member in multiple seasons. The defender was a ECNL All-Conference winner in 2020 as she aided her team to the final eight in the ECNL playoffs. Along with Parsons, the duo claimed four-time national titles in 3v3 play. Off the field, Skurcenski lettered in track and field for three seasons.Â

Throughout Vloedman's time at Brandeis, she's tallied 11 goals while being a strong facilitator having registered 15 assists. She comes to Lubbock with First Team and All-District honors.

A force to be dealt with up top, Zdrojewski joins the Red Raiders with 114 goals solely in 2021 – a Texas state record. In that season, she was named the Dallas Morning News Player of the Year and the USA Today Texas Soccer Player of the Year. In 2020, she was a top five national DA scorer en route to being named a ECNL Texas First Team All-Conference winner. In 2019, Zdrojewski captured the U15 Development Academy Golden Boot.Â

"A true goal scorer – she can finish with all surfaces and is terrific in the air. Her transition to college will be seamless," said Stone.

The Red Raiders finished the 2021 season in the Big 12 Tournament semifinals with an 11-6-3 overall record, going 4-4-1 in league play.
