Cross Country set for NCAA regionals

This will be the first 10K race of the year that the men will race

LUBBOCK, Texas – The men's and women's cross country teams travel to Provo, Utah for the NCAA Mountain Regionals Friday morning at the Timpanogos Golf Club Course.

The women's 6K race will kick things off at 12 p.m. (CT), followed by the men's 10K race at 1 p.m. (CT).

"The regional meet is a great opportunity to run with some of the best in the NCAA," said head coach Jon Murray. "It'll be an exciting experience."

For some Red Raiders, it'll be their first action back since the Big 12 Championship that took place on Oct. 29. The men's squad placed a trio of runners in the top 50 led by Edward Rush who finished 40^thin the 8K race (26:47.7). This will be the first 10K race of the year that Tech will be competing in.

In the women's Big 12 race, Halena Rahmaan crossed the end line 24^th (22:06.0) to lead the women's side in the 6K run. Her PR this season in the 6K was registered at the Arturo Barrios Invitational (21:02.9).
