Men’s Tennis to Host Sunday Home Match Versus Utah

LUBBOCK, Texas – After a long stretch of matches on the road, the Texas Tech men's tennis team is back home this Sunday when they host Utah at 11 a.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center.
The Red Raiders climbed above the .500 mark after a hard fought, 4-3 neutral site win over Wichita State in Dallas. Tech locked in the doubles point thanks to strong play by Illgiz Valiev and Dimitrios Azoidis. The team also saw solid singles play from Franco Ribero and Isaac Arevalo as they dispatched of their Shocker counterparts to help secure the win for the Red Raiders.
The Utes arrive in Lubbock with an 8-3 record, most recently securing a win over the Drake Bulldogs in Des Moines. Utah is led by team captain Slava Shainyan who is undefeated in singles play this season.
Prior to the match, the Red Raiders will be giving away Whataburger sausage biscuit breakfast sandwiches to the first 50 fans who arrive at the McLeod Tennis Center. Those unable to attend can follow match updates on the @TexasTechMTEN account on Twitter and Instagram.
