Red Raiders to face Lady Buffs in wake of North Texas cancellation.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Following a cancellation of Texas Tech's away tilt with North Texas, head coach Tom Stone has added another home game to his squad's spring slate. The Red Raiders will play West Texas A&M at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30.
The addition comes on the heels of Tech and North Texas cancelling their originally-scheduled March 28 game in Denton. The Mean Green, who are in the midst of a Conference USA title race, opted to focus on conference games going forward.
Stone, whose top priority is giving his players minutes this spring, is glad to have so quickly picked up a match.
"It'll be good to have our friends from WTAMU headed down to Lubbock," said Stone. "Coach Webb was nice enough to agree to a game last minute after UNT cancelled so we could both play during next week. We always try to play them in the spring so we're happy to keep the series alive in this 2021 season."
First touch for Tuesday's tilt with WTAMU will be at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. Fans are encouraged to be aware of social distancing guidelines.
