McClung Declares for NBA Draft, Enters Transfer Portal

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech junior Mac McClung has announced his intentions to go through the NBA Draft process along with entering the NCAA transfer portal.
A guard from Gate City, Virginia, McClung joined the Red Raiders this season as a transfer after playing his first two collegiate seasons at Georgetown University. McClung led the Red Raiders in scoring at 15.5 points per game for the season and was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year along with securing USBWA and NABC All-District, All-Big 12 Second Team and All-Big 12 Newcomer Team Honors.
McClung joins TTU sophomore Terrence Shannon, Jr. as players who are going to go through the NBA Draft process where under NCAA rules, they can be evaluated, receive feedback but still return to school if they decide to. The deadline to withdraw is Monday, July 19.Â
