DALLAS, Texas – The Texas Tech women's tennis team earned its third-straight win on Thursday evening, defeating No. 48 SMU, 4-2, at the SMU Tennis Complex.

The Lady Raiders (14-5, 6-1 Big 12) opened the match trailing, 1-0, after SMU took the doubles point with a pair of wins on the back two courts; however, after taking five of six first sets in singles, the Lady Raiders took back control of the match quickly.
Â
It wouldn't take Tech long to even the score as Margarita Skriabina improved her overall singles record this season to 18-1, which includes a 16-0 mark in dual matches. The freshman defeated SMU's Winslow huth, 6-1, 6-4, to tie the match at one-all.

Â
Freshman Metka Komac earned her third-straight three-set win and came up clutch again on Thursday with a victory over Nicole Petchey that put the Lady Raiders on the verge of victory. After dropping her first set, 6-0, Komac won the second, 6-4, and the third, 6-3, to lock up her win, which moved her to 11-4 overall this season.

Miller, who has won eight of her last 10 singles matches, moved to 13-4 in dual matches this season.
