Red Raiders Head to Georgia for NCAA Tournament, Face Hokies in First Round

LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 26 Texas Tech men's tennis team is headed to Athens, Georgia for the first two rounds of the 2021 NCAA Tennis Tournament.

The Red Raiders (12-7, 1-4) secured their fifth tournament bid in six years, and the first under head coach Danny Whitehead. Tech will be facing the Hokies of Virginia Tech (12-9, 6-6) on Saturday, May 8.

Texas Tech will look to recapture some of its mid-season magic that contributed to a nine-match win streak that featured wins over fellow tournament teams New Mexico, Wichita State, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.

The winner of Saturday's opening round matchup will advance to face the victor of host school Georgia and Eastern Tennessee State, with the regional champion advancing to the NCAA Round of 16. The full tournament bracket can be found here.
