Jung Garners All-America Honors from Baseball America

Jace Jung earns a spot on Baseball America’s second team
LUBBOCK, Texas – The All-America honors continue to roll in for Texas Tech Baseball, as Jace Jung earned a spot on Baseball America's 2021 All-America team, it was announced Thursday.
Jung was placed on the outlet's second team, marking his third All-America honor of the postseason. He was a first team selection by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).
This is the seventh All-America honor overall for the Red Raiders following the 2021 season. Shortstop Cal Conley joined Jung with All-America recognition from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and the NCBWA. The middle infield duo were also named Freshman All-Americans by the NCBWA.
In addition to his four All-America honors, Jung has compiled quite the list of awards following his second season in Lubbock. The freshman second baseman was tabbed Big 12 Player of the Year and a unanimous All-Big 12 First Team selection. The NCBWA named him their National Freshman Hitter of the Year, their District 7 Co-Player of the Year, and a member of their District 7 First Team. He is also a member of the ABCA All-Region Team, a Golden Spikes Award semifinalist and a Dick Howser Trophy finalist.
Jung helped lead the Red Raiders to their third consecutive Super Regional appearance, including a 3-0 sweep of the Lubbock Regional. He hit .337 on the year and led the Big 12 with 21 home runs, 67 RBI, and a .697 slugging percentage, ranking among the nation's best in all three categories. Additionally, he accomplished the rare feat of reaching base safely in every game during the regular season.
