LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men's and women's cross country teams were recognized as All-Academic Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Thursday afternoon.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period. On the men's side over 150 programs were recognized while over 168 teams were recognized on the women's side.
"I am super proud of both of these teams," said head cross country coach Jon Murray. "They do a great job not only on the course but in the classroom. There are some great future leaders and educators in this group!"
The women's program turned in a cumulative GPA of 3.67 as the men's team registered a 3.25 GPA.
