Tech finishes second at Ben Hogan

Ludvig Aberg and Calum Scott finished inside the top-10
FORT WORTH – Powered by a pair of top-10 finishes form Ludvig Aberg and Calum Scott, the No. 6 ranked Texas Tech men's golf program finished second at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invite hosted by TCU at historic Colonial Country Club.
Scott and Aberg finished at -3 overall which was good for a tie for eighth overall.
The Red Raiders also received a pair of strong rounds from freshman Matthew Comegys, who fired a final round score 67 (-3) to end up at +4 overall.
The loaded 16-team field included five of the top-six programs in the country including No. 1 Vanderbilt, No. 2 Stanford and No. 4 Oklahoma. In total, 13 of the top-25 teams in the latest GolfWeek rankings were in the field.
In the end, No. 20 North Carolina finished nine shots ahead of the Red Raiders, finishing at -15 for the day.
Pepperdine and No. 5 Arizona State finished tied for third at -5 overall, followed by No. 1 Vanderbilt (-1), Oklahoma State (+4), Stanford (+5) and Texas (+8).
Florida, Oregon and TCU all finished tied for ninth at +11, with No. 4 Oklahoma and No. 9 Georgia Tech sharing 12th place honors.
Wake Forest (+16), Georgia (+19) and USC (+31) rounded out the 16 team field.
TCU's Gustav Frimodt fired a final round 65 to earn individual medalist honors. Frimodt finished one shot ahead of Pepperdine's William Mouw who ended at -7.

After playing in two events in eight days, the Red Raiders will take next week off ahead of the 2022 Big 12 Match Play Championships. The three-day event begins on Oct. 17 and runs through Oct 19 from the Houston Oaks Country Club.
