Big 12 honors four Red Raiders with academic award

LUBBOCK, Texas – Four members of the Texas Tech men's basketball team are on the 2022 Academic All-Big 12 Men's Basketball Team with Kevin McCullar, Terrence Shannon, Jr., Marcus Santos-Silva and Clarence Nadolny earning the scholastic honor.
McCullar is now a three-time Academic All-Big 12 selection, while Shannon and Nadolny have been named for the second straight season. McCullar and Shannon were first-team this season. The 2022 Academic All-Big 12 Men's Basketball Team recognized 32 student-athletes from throughout the Big 12 with 19 first-team honorees and 13 members on the second team. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests.
