Jones named to USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team

Jones previously made the WCNT in 2019 before COVID-19 cancelled training.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Texas Tech volleyball fifth year middle blocker Karrington Jones has been named to the 2022 U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team (WCNT) as announced by USA Volleyball.
The team is comprised of the top collegiate women's volleyball players in the country and will be headed by Rob Browning of St. Mary's.
Last season, Jones garnered All-Big 12 Second Team honors, the first All-Big 12 honors of her career after totaling 221 kills (2.08 k/s), 90 blocks (0.85 blk/s) and 279.5 points (2.64 pts/s). Her .358 hitting clip led the team and ranked fourth in the Big 12 and 60th nationally.
Jones helped lead the Red Raiders to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 20 years as they were selected to the Madison, Wisconsin Regional. She fell just short of a double-double in Tech's first round match up against FGCU, leading the team with nine blocks while tallying 10 kills on a .412 hitting clip.
Jones announced in December she would use the blanket waiver granted by the NCAA for 2020 fall sport student-athletes to return for her fifth year at Tech.
The 2022 Collegiate National Team will train June 19-25 at the National Team Training Center in Anaheim, Calif. Athletes will train among the best collegiate players in the country, watch the WNT training sessions, study the USA systems, meet with Tokyo 2020 Olympians and be observed by the WNT staff.
