Recap: Tech shut out by Baylor

Tech drops the series to the Bears with the loss.
WACO, Texas – Texas Tech (21-23, 4-10) was shutout for the second straight game, falling 4-0 to Baylor (25-18, 4-7) Saturday afternoon at Getterman Stadium.
The Red Raiders outhit the Bears 3-2, but Tech pitchers allowed 11 free passes while Aliyah Binford struck out 10 and gave up no free passes.
A two-out triple from Josie Bower scored the first run of the game for the Bears and a wild pitch with runners on the corners made it 2-0 Baylor in the first.
A bases-loaded hit by pitch gave Baylor a 3-0 lead in the fourth. There were no hits in the inning as four free passes helped the Bears add on the run.
The Red Raiders threatened in the sixth for the first time after a one-out double from Peyton Blythe gave Tech its first runner in scoring position of the game. Blythe moved to third on a fly out to left from Riley Love, but a strikeout ended the inning and the scoring opportunity.
A fourth Baylor run came in on a bases loaded ground out to first base making it 4-0 after six.
The Red Raiders were retired in order in the seventh to end the game.
Erna Carlin (7-6) went 5.0 innings for the Red Raiders allowing four runs before she was replaced in the top of the sixth by Olivia Rains who pitched the remainder of the frame.
