Ribero earns top-20 victory, Stewart wins three matches on day two

MIDLAND, Texas – Senior Franco Ribero earned a spot in the singles semifinals and sophomore Tyler Stewart won three total matches on the second day of the Racquet Club Prize Money Invitational.
Ribero, who is the lone Red Raider in the singles main draw, posted a top-20 win today after overtaking No. 19-ranked Noah Schachter of Texas A&M in the quarterfinals, 6-4, 6-3. In doing so, Ribero moved on to the semifinals of the tournament where he eventually fell to No. 44 Bradley Frye of USC.
Stewart won three matches on the day after picking up two singles victories and a doubles win. First, he defeated Alan Magadan (UTSA) in straight-sets, 6-3, 6-3. Then, the Red Raider earned another win, this time over Texas A&M's JC Roddick in a tough match, 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (4).
In doubles, Stewart and partner Isaac Arevalo posted a dominant victory after beating Oklahoma's Nathan Han and Justin Schlageter, 8-3, to advance to the semifinals of the main draw and close out the second day of the tournament.
