
Three Red Raiders advance in qualifying

LUBBOCK, Texas – Behind three singles wins on Monday, multiple Red Raiders are advancing to the second round of qualifying at the West Texas Pro Tennis Open.
The morning started off with four-seeded Piotr Pawlak winning in straight-sets against Lazar Markovic, 6-2, 6-4.
Then, junior Olle Wallin posted the second win of the day for Texas Tech by a 6-0, 6-2 score to move on to the next round of qualifying.
Sophomore Tyler Stewart picked up the Red Raiders' third victory after overtaking seven-seeded Abraham Asaba in a gritty win that went into a super tiebreak, 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (8).
The Red Raiders continue the second round of qualifying tomorrow, with the winners advancing to the main draw of competition.
