
Red Raiders roll to Inverness title

Tech fired a final round 281 to finish at +1 overall
TOLEDO, Ohio – Powered by three top-10 finishers, the Texas Tech men's golf programed rolled to the team title Tuesday at the Inverness Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Toledo at Inverness Golf Club.
Sophomore Calum Scott led the way for the Red Raiders, finishing second at -5 overall. Senior Ludvig Aberg also finished in the top-five, as the top-ranked amateur player in the world fired back-to-back rounds of 69 and 70 to finish at even overall (T-5).
After opening with identical rounds of one-over par (72) golf, Memphis transfer Tyran Snyders closed with a final round 70 to finish in a tie for seventh.
Tech's final top-15 finisher, Jack Wall, also fired a round of one-under par to finish at +5 overall (T-15).
As a team, the Red Raiders fired a team round of 281 (-3) to finish at +1 overall, six shots clear of second-place Georgia Tech (+7). Big 12 foe Oklahoma finished at +12 overall to secure solo third place while Virginia fired the lowest team score of the day (277, -7) to finish one shot back of the Sooners at +12.
Louisville and Notre Dame finished tied for fifth at +21 overall, followed by Ohio State (+23), Purdue (+27), ETSU (+29) and SMU (+33).
Host Toledo finished 11th at +37, followed by Iowa (+39), Charlotte (+42), South Alabama (+44), Washington (+45) and Southern California (+52).
UP NEXT: The Red Raiders return to action next week for the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational (Oct. 3-4) at the historic Colonial Country Club.
