Texas Tech earns a draw against Saint Mary’s

Gisselle Kozarski led the way with three shots
MORAGA, Calif – Despite holding an advantage in shots until the final minute of the match, Texas Tech earned a 0-0 draw against Saint Mary's on a hot Sunday afternoon at Saint Mary's Stadium.

"It's disappointing for sure because we feel like we've had another performance where we had the better moments and chances," head coach Tom Stone said. "We are playing great defense and getting shutouts, but we are missing a little bit of quality actions in the final third from the whole team. We are only given up a chance or two each match, so we just have to start producing on the other end of the field."

Texas Tech (1-2-3) jumped out the gate looking to strike. Jillian Martinez fed Gisselle Kozarski a pass inside the box that Kozarski fired off the top right crossbar in the 6th minute of the match.

In the 31st minute, Kozarski saw Ashleigh Williams making headway inside the box and fed her a pass, but Williams wasn't able to convert, resulting in a Saint Mary's goal kick.

Tech's best look of the opening half came in the 42nd minute when Peyton Parsons fired a corner kick into the box that connect with Hannah Anderson, but the Gaels' keeper made the save.

Saint Mary's (3-1-1) best look of the match thus far came after the half in the 66th minute when Savannah Schwarze fired off back-to-back shots, one of which was blocked and the other falling off target.

Kozarski recorded Tech's final shots of the match in the 68th and 69th minute, but both fell off target.

Saint Mary's threatened again in the 86th minute when Tessa Salvestrin fired off a shot that was saved by keeper Madison White. Again, in the 89th minute, the Gaels fired off a shot from a corner kick, but White punched the ball out of the box, setting up the 0-0 draw.
