
Scott fires pair of 68's to help claim Top-20 finish

The Red Raiders finished 13th in the Ben Hogan Invitational which featured 14 nationally ranked teams
FORT WORTH, Texas – Junior Calum Scott paced the No. 13 Red Raiders at the Ben Hogan Invitational, posting a Top-20 finish as the 54-hole tournament at Shady Oaks Country Club came to an end on Tuesday afternoon. Scott posted a 2-under-par 68 in Tuesday's final round to conclude his tournament 1-under-par.
Scott also fired a 2-under-par 68 on Monday while opening with a 3-over-par 73 in round one. He was the only Red Raider to shoot a pair of sub-70 rounds at the Ben Hogan Invitational. Also aiding Scott was his success on par-3's, ranking tied for second in the field with an average score of 2.75.
Behind Scott on the Red Raider leaderboard was sophomore Matthew Comegys who shot 7-over-par at the Ben Hogan. He capped his tournament with a 4-over-par 74 on the final day. Freshman Ben Gregg had his best round of the tournament on Tuesday, firing a 1-under-par 69 on Tuesday morning. Tyran Snyders capped his tournament with a 6-over-par 76 in round three. Baard Skogen shot an 8-over-par in round three.
As a team, No. 13 Texas Tech finished round three of the Ben Hogan Invitational with a 7-over-par 287, which was six shots behind Monday's second-round 1-over-par 281 - its lowest score fired at this year's Ben Hogan Invitational. Along with its 10-over-par 290 round-one score, the Red Raiders finished 13th out of the 15-team tournament field which featured five top-10 teams and 14 programs ranked nationally.
The Red Raiders tied for fourth overall in average score on par 3's with an average score of 3.13. Throughout the tournament, the Red Raiders recorded 39 total birdies and one eagle, thanks to Gregg. Â
