Jones signs professionally with Alianza Lima

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech now has two players from last season's squad playing professional volleyball as middle blocker, Karrington Jones, just signed a contract to play for the Alianza Lima Vóley team in Peru.
Jones played for Tech from 2018-22 and made heavy contributions up at the net, both on offense and defense.
In her storied career with Texas Tech, the Little Elm, Texas native helped the Red Raiders earn their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2001 during the 2021 season, when she was also named to the All-Big 12 Second Team.
During her tenure in the Scarlet and Black, Jones put together huge numbers for the Red Raiders. In her career, she collected 616 kills on 1,486 attacks for a .236 hitting clip. Jones also put up an impressive 344 blocks over her career (51 solo, 293 assisted) which ranks sixth in school history, while also adding 828.5 points.
A two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection, Jones started in 28 matches this season and appeared in all 29. During her final year, Jones was able to pick up career highs in three categories when she posted a career-best 14 kills and 17.5 points in the Red Raiders' reverse sweep of UTRGV and added a career-high two aces against Rice.
In addition, she ranked second on the team in blocks and blocks per set and finished the season with 174 kills, 1.61 k/s, six aces, 49 digs, 101 blocks and 0.94 b/s.
