Tech, Big 12 reveals 2023 volleyball conference schedule

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech and the Big 12 Conference have released the 2023 volleyball conference schedule as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning. Tech will play a combination of series and single games as the conference is in a transition year with UCF, Houston, BYU and Cincinnati joining the Big 12.
Kansas will be the first of six conference opponents that Tech will take on inside the United Supermarkets Arena this season as the Red Raiders will get conference play started at home against the Jayhawks with a two-game series on Sept. 22-23.
The Red Raiders won't have to travel far for their first road matchup of the year though as they face the TCU Horned Frogs in a two-game series in Fort Worth, Texas on Sept. 28-29. Tech then comes back home to face new conference opponent, UCF, for one game on Oct. 4.
After playing two opponents at home in the first three weeks, the Red Raiders' schedule flips as they play back-to-back matches on the road with a contest against Iowa State on Oct. 6 and a series against the BYU Cougars on Oct. 13-14.
Following that series, Tech will return home to matchup against the Cougars of Houston in a two-game series on Oct. 20-21. Another new face is on the slate for Oct. 25 as the Red Raiders travel north to Cincinnati for a one-game scrap with the Bearcats.
The Red Raiders continue with two more home matches as they take on the Baylor Bears on Nov. 4, then welcome West Virginia for a series on Nov. 9-10, both in Lubbock. After the West Virgina series, it's back on the road for the Red Raiders as they'll travel to Manhattan, Kan., for a two-game series on Nov. 17-18.
Texas Tech will travel back home for one last match at the USA as they square up against the Oklahoma Sooners on Nov. 22. Then, the Red Raiders finish conference play on the road in Austin as they take on the defending national champions, Texas, on Nov. 25.
