Tech moves to solo second at Pullman Regional

With just 18 holes to play, Tech has a 10 shot lead over sixth place Sac State
PULLMAN, Wash. – After 36 holes of the Pullman Regional, the Texas Tech Red Raider womne's golf program sits in solo second at -17 overall.
With a nine-shot cushion over sixth-place Sacramento State, Texas Tech received strong performances from Shannon Tan and Chaira Horder.
After opening with a 66, Tan used five birdies without a bogey for a second round 67.
In her first regional, Tan sits at -11, one shot behind the No. 1 ranked golfer in the country, Rose Zhang. Zhang completed the two days at -12, after firing a second round 68. Horder sits at -7 overall, tied for seventh.
Zhang's Stanford squad enjoys a 16 shot lead after two rounds of play. The No. 1 ranked Cardinal are -35 for the week.
As previously mentioned, the Red Raiders sit in solo second at -17, two shots clear of No. 24 Clemson (-15) and four shots clear of No. 13 USC (-13). Baylor is fifth at -12, followed by Sacramento State (-8), Cal Poly (-1), UNLV (even) and Houston (even).
Kentucky sits in 10th at +1, followed by UNC (+13) and Green Bay (+35).

The Red Raiders look to advance to the NCAA Championships at Grayhawk tomorrow for the fourth time in program history and the first time since 2017. In order to advance, the Red Raiders would have to finish inside the top-five.
