The Rockwall native was tabbed a Freshman All-American by both D1Baseball and Baseball America

LUBBOCK, Texas – Fresh off a strong 2023 campaign, Texas Tech infielder Kevin Bazzell was tabbed a Freshman All-America selection by both Baseball America (First Team) and D1
Baseball (Second Team).

Starring for the Red Raiders predominately at third base, Bazzell hit .348 in his first full-collegiate season turning in a team-best 24 doubles, a team-high 28 multiple hit games and 10 homers. Bazzell concluded the season ranked inside the top-10 nationally in doubles.

The Rockwall native played in 63 of the Red Raiders 64 games, finishing second in batting average (.348), second in RBIs (62) and second in slugging percentage (.572).

A 2023 First Team All-Big 12 selection, Bazzell was named a Freshman All-America selection in four major baseball publications. In addition to his honors from D1 Baseball and Baseball America, he was named honored by Collegiate Baseball and the NCBWA last month.
