Red & Black scrimmage set for Saturday

It's that time of the year again as Texas Tech Volleyball hosts its annual Red and Black scrimmage on Saturday, August 19 at 6 p.m. inside the United Supermarkets Arena practice gym.
Red Raider Nation will get a first glance at the 2023 Texas Tech volleyball team as the roster boasts nine returners in Ellie Baumert, Maddie Correa, Caitlin Dugan, Madison Gilliland, Currie Marusak, Paige Mooney, Maddie O'Brien, Reese Rhodes and Brynn Williams, as well as 11 newcomers to the roster – seven freshmen and four transfers – in Katelyn Cochran, Emily Contreras, Destiny Cox, Abby Dickinson, Reagan Engler, Kate Hansen, Elena Leontaridou, Emily Merrick, Courtney O'Brien, Simone Overbeck and Claudia Rossi.
Texas Tech officially begins its season hosting the Under Armour Challenge tournament on August 25 with an opening day match against Houston Christian at 11 a.m.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and it is free admission for fans attending the scrimmage. Admission is first come, first served as there are 100 seats available, and fans are encouraged to enter through the North door of the United Supermarkets Arena to access the practice gym.
