Rhodes tallied 37 assists and a career-best 21 digs in the match for the Red Raiders (8-8, 1-3 Big 12). Simone Overbeck also posted a career-high in digs with 16 on the night, while junior Maddie Correa added her 11th double-digit dig performance of the year with 18 against TCU (10-5, 3-1 Big 12). TCU took a 6-1 lead to begin the match before a block from Engler and a kill by Overbeck stopped the run. Tech put up two more points after that to cut into TCU's advantage at 7-5 before the Horned Frogs won three-straight points to answer. The Red Raiders rallied back with three points of their own on kills from three different players – Engler, Overbeck and Dugan – to make it 10-8. TCU would end the set on a 7-1 run, however, to win it by a 25-20 score.
The Scarlet and Black went on an 8-0 run to start set three after Williams and Merrick tallied a few kills and Emily Contreras added an ace. With the 9-4 advantage, Tech would win six of the next 10 points thanks to errors on the Horned Frogs and more offense from Williams for the 15-8 lead. TCU forced a Tech timeout after winning three-consecutive points, but Dugan would stop the run with a slam. At 15-11, the Red Raiders claimed nine of 11 points to take a 24-13 lead. TCU chipped away, but Tech closed it out with a kill from Engler, 25-19.
