Red Raiders open fall season in Midland

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men's tennis team opens its fall season at the Midland Racquet Club Invitational on Friday through Saturday, September 8-10. Tech will send four players to the tournament in Takeyasu Sekiguchi, Tyler Stewart, Sebastian Abboud and Jonas Gundacker.
Last season, Stewart played doubles primarily at court three where he collected a 5-1 dual record while posting an 8-4 overall record. In singles, Stewart tallied eight overall wins and six in dual matches, mostly at court five.
Abboud played singles primarily at court six and doubles at court three. He recorded five overall singles wins and went 7-5 overall in doubles. Last season Sekiguchi only played a couple of doubles matches in the fall, while Gundacker is an incoming freshman from Austria and will make his Red Raider debut at the tournament.
