Zdrojewski, Nguyen named Big 12 Players of the Week

The forward took home Co-Offensive Player of the Week, while Nguyen was named the Goalkeeper of the Week
IRVING, Texas – After closing out the only perfect 2-0-0 week in the Big 12 Conference last week, and for the second consecutive week, Texas Tech Women's Soccer earned a pair of weekly honors, the league announced Wednesday.
Following another 2-0-0 week and after making eight saves, Nguyen was honored as Goalkeeper of the Week for the second consecutive week, as the Californian closed out her sixth clean sheet of the season in Sunday's 2-0 win over Houston. Nguyen is now third in the league in overall clean sheets, but the GK does however lead the league in shutout in conference matches with three.
One of the breakout starts for the Red Raiders in 2024, Zdrojewski, has scored six times and tallied three assists after scoring and contributing a pair of assists last week. The forward factored into three of Tech's four goals on the week and now has 15 points through the season's first 12 matches.
After tallying assists on both of Tech's goals in the 2-1 win over Kansas State, "Z" scored the game-winner on Sunday in Houston, ripping a shot just 38 seconds after halftime to put the Red Raiders on top, 1-0. For the week, Zdrojewski tallied five shots, the goal and the assists in 144 minutes of action.
Riding a four-match winning streak and tied with Colorado and West Virginia atop the Big 12 standings at the midway point of Big 12 play, the Red Raiders return home to the John Walker Soccer Complex on Friday night for a 7 p.m. contest with Baylor.
