Red Raiders continue Fall Ball season with win over LCU
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech softball was back in action against Lubbock Christian on Thursday night at Rocky Johnson Field. The Red Raiders used 23 hits to score 17 runs and allowed just two hits and one run through 10 innings.
NiJaree Canady was nearly perfect in the circle. She pitched five innings, striking out nine batters and allowed just one base runner on a hit by pitch.
Chloe Riassetto allowed just one run through three innings while Brenlee Gonzales pitched two innings and struck out five of the six batters she saw.
On the offensive side, Mihyia Davis went 6-for-6 at the plate with two doubles and a pair of RBIs. Bailey Lindemuth went 5-for-6 with a triple and three RBI while Logan Halleman recorded three hits and an RBI of her own.
Anya German and Raegan Jennings both roped doubles and scored as Hailey Toney recorded a three-RBI triple.
Katie Lott also recorded multiple RBI as Canady recorded two hits and an RBI at the plate.
Alana Johnson, Lauren Allred and Makayla Garcia also recorded hits and each picked up an RBI.
Tech exploded for five runs in the fifth and seven runs in the ninth after scoring a run in each of the first two innings.
UP NEXT: The Red Raiders will face Lubbock Christian again on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at LCU's field.
