Pitching staff dominate as Tech takes down LCU

Red Raiders put up seven runs behind strong pitching to improve to 4-0 this fall
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech's pitching staff of Chloe Riassetto, Bailey Lindemuth, Brenlee Gonzales and NiJaree Canady shut down the Chaps offense, recording 15 strikeouts to vault the Red Raiders to a 7-1 win over Lubbock Christian on Halloween night.
Riassetto started the game, allowing just two hits and one run over three innings. Lindemuth followed the lefty with two shutout innings while Gonzales came in and struck out four of the seven batters she faced. Canady came into the game and after loading the bases on walks and a hit by pitch, she settled down to strike out seven of the final eight batters allowing no hits.
Mihyia Davis finished 4-for-5 on the day as she led off the game with a triple and went on to hit three singles and steal two bases while driving in a run.
Logan Halleman and Makayla Garcia both went 2-for-3 with Garcia driving in two runs.
Alexa Langeliers and Raegan Jennings also recorded multiple hits in four at bats. Langeliers drove in two runs as Jennings recorded an RBI of her own and stole two bases.
Canady and Katie Lott would both hit doubles and come around to score while Lauren Allred also picked up a hit and Demi Elder recorded a sac-fly to score a run.
Tech finished the game with 15 hits while holding the Chaps to just six.
UP NEXT: Tech will host Garden City Community College on Nov. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at Rocky Johnson Field.
