Isaacs earns NABC All-District honor

LUBBOCK – Texas Tech sophomore Pop Isaacs has been named to the NABC All-District Second Team.
The NABC announced the 2023-24 NABC Division I All-District Teams and District Coaches of the Year on Tuesday. The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I.
Isaacs leads the Red Raiders with 15.9 points per game this season to go along with 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals. He was also named to the All-Big 12 Third Team last week. Isaacs scored in double figures in 25 of 33 game this season, including going off for a career-high 32 points with six 3-pointers in a regular-season win over BYU. He had a streak of 13 straight games scoring in double figures with seven games of 20 or more within that stretch. Isaacs finished the regular season with a 20-point performance in a win over Baylor in the home finale and then dropped 22 points on BYU in the Big 12 Championship quarterfinals.
The NABC All-District First Team is Max Abmas (Texas), Hunter Dickinson (Kansas), Tamin Lipsey (Iowa State), Kevin McCullar (Kansas) and Jamal Shead (Houston). Isaacs is joined on the NABC All-District Second Team by LJ Cryer (Houston), RayJ Dennis (Baylor), Dylan Disu (Texas) and Emanuel Miller (TCU). The NABC selections honored Houston's Kelvin Sampson with the district's Coach of the Year.
Isaacs and the Red Raiders open the NCAA Tournament against NC State at 8:40 p.m. (CST) on Thursday in Pittsburgh.
