The Red Raiders make no move in this week’s poll

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Texas Tech track and field teams held onto its spots in the week five rankings released by the USTFCCCA Tuesday afternoon. The men stayed at No. 5, while the women stayed at No. 9.

Tech is the only Big 12 member with its men and women track and field programs inside the top-10.

This week marks the final regular season meet for the Red Raiders before the Big 12 Outdoor Championships (May 9-11) take place in two weeks in Waco at Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium.

When it comes to the men's side, the Red Raiders boast three national-top 5 marks and eight national top-10 marks. One thing to note for the men is that indoor national champions Caleb Dean and Terrence Jones have yet to fully open up this outdoor season.

For the women, indoor national champion Ruta Lasmane still holds the No. 1 mark in the country in the event with a leap of 13.88m (45-6 ½) (2.5w). She made her outdoor debut this past weekend at the Michael Johnson Invite.
