Texas Tech set for final regular season home meet

In two weeks, Tech will travel to Waco for the 2024 Big 12 Outdoor Championships
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team is set to close out the regular season hosting the Corky/Crofoot Shootout this Friday and Saturday at the Fuller Track and Field Complex.
Texas Tech will recognize its seniors Friday night at 6:30 p.m. on the track.Â

Last Time Out
Tech hit the road for the final time in the regular season attending the annual Michael Johnson Invite hosted by Baylor. But it's not the final time in Waco this year as the Red Raiders will be back at the Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium in two weeks for the 2024 Big 12 Outdoor Championships May 9-11.

Rankings
The Texas Tech track and field teams held onto its spots in the week five rankings released by the USTFCCCA Tuesday afternoon. The men stayed at No. 5, while the women stayed at No. 9.

Tech is the only Big 12 member with its men and women track and field programs inside the top-10.

In The Know
While everyone will be competing at home, two Red Raiders in Edward Rush and Vincent Koech will be in Stanford for the Payton Jordan Invite. Both will be running Friday night, Koech in the 1500m (9:42 CT) and Rush in the 5k (11:27 CT).

This weekend's meet marks the final tune-up for Tech when it comes solidifying the roster for Big 12s. Vashaun Vascianna, who has been out since the 2022 outdoor season will look to make his return back in the 110m hurdles. Vascianna was a first team All-American indoors in the 60m hurdles back in 2022 as a true freshman.

Zaid Latif will look to go in the long jump for the first time in a month (Texas Relays) as well as Ruta Lasmane in the triple jump.
